Nah! I had both! I had FireRed first though!
For Nuzlocking I use ROMs tho as I always start with a bizarre weak Pokemon though. I only change my starter.... One I did Weedle and my beedrill lasted a long time!
i might struggle with keeping my new starter first evo until elite four tho wow
