Default Re: cats715 VS. Silver Slasher (Open Battle)

It was a day in late April. Two Pokémon trainers had ventured out from the main city to do battle in a field a few miles away. Green grass stretched in every direction, except up, for as far as the eye could see. However, despite the beauty of the place they were in they both seemed upset – one tapped his foot impatiently while the other paced back and forth, fuming angrily. Suddenly, the one who had been pacing stopped and pointed something out to the other; something in the sky seemed to be heading towards them. As it got closer they could see that it was a Charizard and that it was heading towards them – in fact, it was going to land. As soon as it had, another member of the league jumped off, this was the referee, who quickly apologised for being late and told them that they could start the battle.

They took positions nearly immediately, Silver Slasher on the referee’s right and cats715 on his left. Silver Slasher pulled out a small sphere and pushed the button between the two coloured halves to enlarge it. He threw it into the air, causing it to split and blinding white energy to pour out; this energy formed an Ivysaur, which seemed fairly comfortable on the grassy plain. After a moment of consideration, cats chose his own warrior – a Gible who immediately prepared for battle against the green dinosaur he had been pitted against.

Round One

Both trainers were eager to start and their Pokémon also leapt into action. Sparkling blue powder wafted across the field from Dino’s bud – this was a very strange powder, as Gible was about to find out. Unknowingly, he inhaled some of the powder while he prepared to attack: a fatal error. He immediately began to feel drowsy and his eyelids seemed to turn into lead; the purple fire in his throat died away and he collapsed to the ground in a deep slumber.

Since his rival didn’t seem ready to make their own move, Dino decided to strike. The Ivysaur charged at the ground-shark with his head down – a golden stream of energy formed a tail, like that of a comet, while the green head was capped by a similar layer of energy. He picked up speed in the last few feet and then jumped straight at the dozing dragon. They collided, causing damage to both sides; Gible rolled away from the impact but didn’t even stir while Dino withdrew slightly to compose himself. He thought it had gone well, all things considered. However, the attack had taken a lot of energy to pull off so he decided to sit back and have a quick rest since his opponent wasn’t going anywhere.

Unfortunately, Gible awoke just as he was sitting down; he reluctantly opened his eyes to find that he was facing away from Dino. Perfect! He quickly decided to use the element of surprise and catch his target off guard. A claw was discretely raised so that he could see it and began to glow brightly – thankfully it was in a place where the Ivysaur couldn’t see it. Then, with expert timing, Gible leapt to his feet and ran full pelt at his prey, who was too shocked to react. Glowing claws found their way to the delicate flower bud on Dino’s back and slashed at it belligerently; the Ivysaur winced and shook as the terrible pain overrode everything in his mind. He scrambled to his feet and retreated, feeling hurt and terrified.
