It, in general, gives people more opportunity to be corrupted than those without power. In essence, the question of whether or not power is a mechanism for corruption should be a yes. However, like all psychological phenomena, this still has a lot of variations in between. Therefore, while we can ascertain that power has at least the pull of corruption existing, whether or not it does is another matter altogether.
