As I said I'm taking it slow, because i want to experience all the new features and similarities to the originals.

Update - My team is now in Kanto. I only have two Kanto badges and all my party members were at Lv: 53 when I got them. I was getting my butt spanked and would have lost entirely if it were not for the Full Restores I bought. I sold several Nuggets I acquired throughout my progress. Since I was getting beaten, I decided to level my team up some more.

My party is now at Lv: 70. All of them. I haven't leveled up a team on strictly battle experience since the original Pokemon Red. I alway had rare candies. I'm not cheating in this game, so that's another reason I'm taking so long. I think I'll take on the Kanto Gym Leaders now.

I have a strategy guide but it only covers Johto. I'm walking blind in Kanto although I have my memories of the original Gold and Silver to help me predict my next task. I need a Kanto walk through. So much of HeartGold and SouldSilver is the same as Gold and Silver for GameBoy Color and so much is refreshingly different. It's cool. I'm enjoying this.

I'm playing SoulSilver. My nephew is helping me with HeartGold. He gave me his shiny Spinarak. I have lousy luck catching shinies while he catches at least one in every game. I'm so jealous.
