I moved away from the battlefield as Khajmer’s Alakazam healed himself with a Recover, then, using his Psychic powers, recalled himself to his PokeBall. The Trainer then released another Pokemon, a Shiftry, which was as black as the Pokemon before it. I’d wondered, at first, if it was just a genetic thing that had caused Alakazam to be ebony, but apparently there was something more to it. Call it paranoid, but i seemed…unnatural, somehow. I reminded myself to ask the young man about his oddly-colored Pokemon, after this battle was over.
Bibarel didn’t seem the slightest bit pertubed by the evil smile Khajmer’s Pokemon gave him.

Instead, the Pokemon shrugged his broad, powerful shoulders, rolled his head back, and opened his dark, gray-brown jaws in a massive yawn. His sharp front teeth glimmered in the bright sun, almost hypnotically. Afterwards, the beaver closed his mouth and shrugged his shoulders again. Then he crouched close to the ground and curled himself into a large furry ball, using his Defense Curl to protect himself from any attacks Shitry made before his Yawn took hold.
