Bob pulled a Hyper Ball out and, acting hastily, threw it at the back of Absol’s head. It struck the Disaster Pokemon, who have a startled yelp as Bob yelled, “Togekiss!” The dove, already beginning to turn, whirled around faster in startlement. She didn’t have to do anything, though, because the Hyper Ball snapped open and sucked Absol in before it could finish its attack.

The Ball fell, hidden by the grass. I slowly started to walk towards where I’d seen it fall, but a burst of light made me jump back. Absol reappeared, shaking its head as it looked around, momentarily surprised. Then it must have noticed the Hyper Ball, because it growled and dipped its head down. A second later the Ball came flying into view, aimed right at Bob’s face. I hoped he’d be able to duck out of the way before it hit him, then watched as Absol leapt into the air. It swung its scythe around with a wild howl, jaws gaping open as it prepared for yet another Bite. It still looked a bit dazed from taking a Hyper Ball to the head, but it didn’t seem to care as it once more attempted to attack Togekiss from behind.
