But it appears that this time around, they will be going back to Johto.

I do recall a few, but it’s getting a little excessive already, especially considering there’s still around 15 or so Sinnoh Pokemon remaining to debut in the space of a single gym.

Plus, I’m not sure Johto is as inevitable as people think. We’re just assuming this because they did the same in the previous series. Remember that the Resort/Survival/Fight Area is present on this occasion, where the Battle Frontier is actually held in-game. Not to mention it offers possible storylines like the Galactic Stark Mountain plot. I’m not saying that Johto is implausible, or even remotely unlikely, it’s just we all seem to be treating it like it’s a guaranteed fact (by the way, I wasn’t directing that at you personally; I was referring to everyone in general, me included. :P) And if they do return there, I’d actually like to see some reference to past events and characters that were introduced in Johto, like Casey perhaps. Kanto was relatively disappointing in that aspect, since all they really picked up on was the fact that Giovanni had abandoned/was absent from Viridian Gym.

Also, I’ve only just noticed the enlarged Pikachu pictured in the scan on the opening page. Ahah xD. I’m presuming this is in relation to Natu/Xatu’s abilities and/or this “Mysterious Forest.” Interesting; I usually find it amusing when they focus on the Psychic type, since it generally involves some wacky theme being explored. Seems like this episode is no exception. :P
